Purpose

You already know that you can go to the library or book store and read books to learn new things. But you can also use the internet and websites on the WEB to do your research.  This WebQuest will give you the opportunity to use your surfing skills to learn more about some of our American Symbols.
A symbol is a thing that stands for or represents something else. American Symbols are those that represent important ideas or people in the United States.  You will go on an internet scavenger hunt to find out about symbols of the United States. Read the questions. Then click on the underlined words to go to Web sites and find the answers. Write your answers on the American Symbols worksheet. You can print it out or ask your teacher to print it out for you.  As a Final project, you will be designing a symbol to represent our class of third graders at Desert Harbor.
